Default Bad axles?

So when I first got my car it had bad rear wheel bearings and the guy I got it off of supplied the wheel bears with “helper bearings” at the time I had no idea what they were so I replaced the bad ones with those. The axles weren’t to bad when I took them out just a little groved where the bearing was riding before. So now when I’m driving and I’m slowing down or accelerating around the speed of 0-15 mph my car has a “wobbling” feeling but any speed after that it feels fine. A few months ago I was planned to change the axles and I took it all apart and of course I couldn’t get the axles pressed in far enough to get the c-clips out. Just wanted to know if you guys think the “wobbling” feeling is from bad axles or I have a different issue. If it’s the axles then I’ll probably be taking it to a shop and letting them deal with it and see what they can do.

I'd say no.
If it was the rear axles or bearings it would be leaving puddles of gear oil everywhere you parked, and the insides of the wheels would be soaked with it.

FYI Axle saver bearings cannot be used on a 4th gen with traction control and a torsen differential. The axles have a thicker flange and the differential has thicker gears. Thats why you can't get the clips out.

oh yeah I learned my lesson on that. I was clueless about them when I first put them on and now they’re on and I’m f*ucked

If they went together they'll come apart.

Yea, it's a lot easier to hammer a c-clip in than it is to hammer it out.

I've fixed a bunch of these, I usually just sand the axles smooth and install new standard bearings. Never had one fail afterwards and some were worn badly. The real problem is why did the axle and bearing get damaged< low oil level from a leaking pinion seal.
