Default Ford 9” carrier questions?

Hey guys,

i bought a 1999 Camaro with a Ford 9” in it. I removed the rear end noticed it’s a Moser housing with a strange iron center section (3.73) and bear axles (35 spline). My friend and I put a big bar on each side of the hubs between the studs and pulled separate ways. The axles didn’t break free so I am assuming it’s a spool rear end.

I dont want a spool for the street so what exactly do I need to know when ordering a new center section?

The rear end has no ABS and my car is set up for a 3 channel. What all does that take to put in now?

Thanks for the help!!

Here is my link to the Moser center section. It would be much easier not to try to add ABS to your car. You could order the center section with the ABS ring but in order to be able to use it you would have to drill into the top of the housing and weld in the bung for the ABS sensor. Bob

Thanks Bob! Do I need to buy the entire center section? or can I buy just the part in the center section that converts the spool to a posi?

You're welcome. Yes you can buy just the differential itself to replace the spool. I sell the two below. There is also the Strange S Trac, which is a very good differential. I don't sell it but Midwest does. Thanks. Bob
