Default any rear end for 2k or less for stock power?

looking to purchase a rear end far around 1500-2k that doesn't need a new driveshaft (can bolt in as delivered). car will never see more than stock power & it is not driven hard or taken to the strip. 99' trans am m6. --- seems no matter how you configure an s60 or other rear ends, once you enter all specs to have them properly fit in the vehicle they come out to 2800-3300. if i could find a drop in direct bolt in for 2k i would be more than happy.

I got a quick performance for my turd gen. Pretty good prices on all their stuff. Housing and axles was like $1250 I think and they have complete 3rd members for like 990 or so

A direct bolt-in rear for no hard driving, no track use, no additional power - seems like another stock rear would be the most cost-effective answer. Even with an M6, a healthy stock rear should have no problems lasting a very long time under those conditions.

I sent you a pm if you’re still looking for a direct bolt in rear.

That sounds like as RPM said an ideal car for a stock rear end. In mild driving I've gotten over 375,000 miles out of a stock 10-bolt before with just an occasional rear end oil change. My 02 Z28 has 250,000 miles on its 10 bolt and so far it's held up well. My 99 TA another stock rear end with 4.10's hold up for over 150,000 miles plus with a 400+ whp heads and cam set up. I had that that 10-bolt rebuilt by a shop for $800 for another car. The gears, carrier, pinion & axle bearings were all toast in it. Another customer had the same shop rebuild their 10-bolt and it didn't need as much replaced and was only $500 which wasn't too bad. With mild use the stockers can live for a good while.

Wheel hop can kill them real fast etc but for your application, a good stock rebuild sounds ideal. Best wishes and luck with new rear.

PS - it is nice to have an aftermarket one and not have to worry much about it. I like the Hawk's Motorsports 8.8 and mine have held up well but that's going to be over 2K
