Default Which Motive Differential kit to use?

Hey everyone new nember to the forum & I cant for the life of me figure out what to do. I am putting some 3.90 gears in my 1998 ws6 and there are a couple kits by motive performance. One kit says for 99+ and the other is for 98 and below. R7.5GRMKt for 98 and below and
R7.5GRLMKT for 1999+.

I Believe the kit for my rear end install kit is R7.5GRMKt or R7.5GRMK
https://www.motivegear.com/auto-parts-product/1392-bearing-kit-r75grmkt/?crt_viaSearch=partkeyword%3AR7.5GRMKT

i ordered this install kit R7.5GRLMKT it says its for 1999+models.
https://www.motivegear.com/auto-parts-product/1389-bearing-kit-r75grlmkt/?crt_viaSearch=partkeyword%3AR7.5GRLMKT

My question is will the R7.5GRLMKT kit be compatible with the 1998 model I have. If its not what specifically isnt compatible thanks.

The one with the T is for Timken bearings, the one without the T is for Koyo bearings, you ordered the T version which is good.
As far as incompatability between 98 and 99, all the parts are identical EXCEPT for the yoke seal. Sometime in the 99 production the seal was changed and there's no telling which seal the kit contains, it is a very common problem. There are many threads about this problem. Most go to a GM dealer and get the one that the kit doesn't contain and use the one that fits the yoke the best.
The GM #s' are 26026792 for the earlier version and 12471523 for the later version.
26026792 for 1998, 1999, and some 2000.
12471523 for some 2000, 2001, 2002.
It has been a very confusing topic.

Since the kit also contains ring gear bolts, and for what you'd be doing I see no reason to remove the ring gear from the carrier, they are LEFT HAND thread.
Also the two caps that hold the carrier in the housing have to go back in same, not to be interchanged, so mark them as to where they were.

Disregard the part about seeing no reason to remove ring gear, just noticed your changing gears.
Are you doing it, you with a friend, or a shop ?
