Default New rear end for 4 channel abs

I have a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am with 4 channel ABS. Looking for a bolt in rear end to replace the 10 bolt. I’ve used the search function and read everything I can about issues with aftermarket rear ends and four channel ABS issues. Most of the posts are several years old. Is there a manufacturer that has got these issues handled? I want to keep the traction control and ABS and I am not looking to spend thousands and have a bunch of lights on the dash and brake issues. Thanks so much for any advice!

I know quick performance allows you to use stock brakes on the 9" housing and you just have them add the tone rings to the axles...
Im sure the other axle manufacture's do also.

Strange 12 bolt or Hawks 8.8 for a street car. 9 inch for a drag car.

Midwest Chassis.

Both their own MWC9 and the Strange S60 offer the ability to retain 3- or 4-channel ABS. Depending on your goals, both axles are plenty strong and reliable.

Have a MWC9 and I ordered and used factory parts and still got lights from TC/ABS.

Hit and miss it seems with having success with them

S60 swapped here w/ 4-ch tone rings from OEM axle reused on new Strange axles. Worked w/ MWC on this swap, I had to pull the tone rings and brake backing plates off of my OEM rear and send them in to be installed on the Stange rear, but the OEM brakes and sensors bolted back up just like OEM. No lights, everything works as originally.

S60 here, 4-channel car as well. When my setup was closer to stock, everything worked perfect. I've since deleted cruise/traction control.

Midwest Chassis 9". Goes in the same way the stock rear comes out. Lots of gear choices. The ones complaining about gear whine either 1) didn't set them up properly 2) Cheap gears or 3) didn't do a proper break-in/heat cycles. The S60 is damn near indestructible, kind of set it and forget it rear. Fairly limited gear choices, I think 3.54 is the lowest numerical gear you can get for it (not 100% sure on that tho)

My S60 has handled every bit of abuse thrown at it. If you ever think you'll change gears with any regularity, get a 9". The job is easier. But if you just want strength and don't plan on changing gears, get the S60. Unless you spend some coin and get an aluminum center section on the 9", an S60 is lighter. I priced out both options and to get a 9" for the same price as an S60, I wasn't able to spec any of the "good" parts on the 9". Also, 91 Z28 is correct, 3.54 gears are the lowest you can go numerically on the S60. S60's don't have case breaks, however. Whatever carrier you have will work from a 3.54 to a 7.17. I have 4.30's presently and I'm planning to change to 3.73's, as my turbo combo doesn't like those steep gears.

1) Mine was setup by MWC
2) They installed gears
3) Did proper break-in and heat cycles per MWC instructions
4) Gear oil changed at 250, 500 and 1000 miles

Still have gear whine.......1100ish miles all street use no drag/lauches.

My 2002 Camaro SS has a Moser 9 inch with reluctor on each axle and sensor on each wheel.

It has traction control and it works.............need to turn off before doing a burnout.

It has two brake lines going to the back, one to each wheel.

Original ABS control unit still installed. Line lock installed as well.

The original diff assembly was setup the same way, i.e. 4 channel and traction control.

I have no ABS lights or other issues.

Wish I could say the same about my 98!

What gears did you get? I bought my center section from Quick Performance when I had their 9" rear end that fit like ****. I've got US gears in mine and all I did was 5 heat cycles increasing in duration with each cycle and changed the oil. Smooth as butter and dead quiet
