Default New rear-end

I recently curbed my 98 SS hard. So hard the impact bent part of my rear assembly. I want to replace it. My car is making 450-500 hp. My goal is somewhere around 900. What would be a good rear axle assembly. Any recommendations?

Strange S60. Best investment I've made in my Firebird. They're cheaper for the same power capacity as a Ford 9" ( at the same price point, you won't be able to get the GOOD Ford 9" components ), they're an easier bolt in ( all factory mounting points for everything ), and you can keep your ABS and traction control if so equipped. The only downside I see is you can't go lower ( numerically ) than a 3.54 gear ratio.

MWC Fab 9 or the S60 both are good choices. I have both and they bolt in without issues.

thank you. That helps out a lot. Is that gear ratio something that would be able to handle that kind of hp? Also do you no how that gear ratio would respond with my current hp of somewhere around 475?

Gear ratio doesn't matter for strength in an S60. The 3.54 is likely the strongest gear made for it, however, due to increased contact between the ring and pinion teeth. Your power level won't even come close to hurting it. I probably have close to double the power you do and it doesn't even flinch. If you're staying N/A, I would recommend doing 3.73 gears if you have an automatic, 4.10 or 4.56 if you have a manual. I have 4.30's presently, but I'm stepping down to a 3.54 because 4.30's are too much for a turbo car. They were awesome when my car was N/A, however. There's a case break on S60's, which is 3.54 - 4.10 ( and 4.30's if you can find them anymore ), and then 4.10 - 7.17. Because of that, unless you're 100% sure you'll never boost your car, you may want to avoid 4.56's.

thanks again. This has been extremely helpful. The car is a manual T56. It is N/A. The goal is to add boost within a year. It's not a drag car. It's a street car and I'm looking for the greatest gains i can get through all 6 gears.
