Default Ordered new Quick Performance 9" Rearend

First, gotta give a shout out to Tick Performance for guiding me through this purchase. Ford 9" is way outside my normal lanes of expertise lol
so after 20 years and a few 4l60s later, I think it's time to put the tired 10bolt to bed. Its helds it's own with a couple turbo ls1 setups, the 2.73s have held up pretty long lol.
So howd i do? Heres what i went with:

Quick Performance Complete 9" Rearend Package for 1982-2002 F-Body
Housing Center Piece New Stock Style Big Web
Added Sway Bar Mounts
Axle 35 Spline
Center Section Case Strange Nodular Iron Pro-N Case Center Section 35 Spline Eaton Truetrac
Ring & Pinion Style Standard Street Gear
Gear Ratio Standard Street Gear 3.50
Pinion Support Nodular Iron Daytona Support
Pinion Yoke 1350 Billet
Lube Locker Gasket
Bolt Pattern 5 x 4 3/4"
Wheel Studs M12-1.5 x 2-1/2" Press In
Universal Parking Brake Cable Kit

Current drivetrane: lq4 with gen4 rods and ls2 pistons, 241 heads, summit stage 2 turbo cam 226/230 dur., fast 92 intake, Huronspeed V3 t4 turbo kit with VSR 7875 billet gen 2.5 turbo, 4l80 modified transgo HD kit, 3600 FTI stall, 18" wheels stock height, UMI full chassis and suspension upgrades, full interior car.
Estimated weight is around 3600lbs minus driver.

That bracket for the torque arm is too funky. I had a QP rear end for my 91 Z28 and it fit horribly and their fix was to just cut the floor. Didn't even put any miles on that unit just pulled it out and sold it off then bought a Midwest Chassis fab 9

Yea that's what QP said too when I got mine directly from them. I did do a bunch of research and concluded it was fairly hit and miss with how it fit. Some guys it was like it meant to be there where others, myself included had issues with floor contact and tunnel clearance. Only way I could get that rear in with my BMR TA was to put it all the way to the passenger side and there was so contact up towards the front of the tunnel

My next idea was to adapt the MWC 2 piece arm onto the QP unit but in the end I just gave up. Honestly that's what QP should do is scrap the TA mount bracket and build their own torque arm for that rear end

I currently have the UMI adjustable long arm that's mounted to my 4l80 trans mount. Hopefully I dont have to do any cutting. Already had to do massaging to fit 315s in there along time ago lol wasn't planning on mini tubbing it yet lol

you ordered your rear end from Tick? You didn't buy it at QP directly? why didn't you get fill/drain plugs?

It just happen that they were the first ones I came across. And I've always liked Tick for their cams, even if im running a summit cam right now lol plus, Chris at Tick was really good with following up with my initial order setup. What really got me at first was I thought it was free shipping, but turned out it was a system error and I was suppose to pay for freight shipping. They called me back and had to correct that. But they also caught the Bolt Pattern messup and corrected my order, so that helped avoid a headache down the road.
I dont remember even seeing that as an option to select for the drain/fill plug.
Ive been back and forth between a 12bolt or 9" of all kinds of flavors. Even considered the Hawks 8.8. The rearends all seem to sky rocket when ypu start needing a rearend to handle 800+ hp setups with turbos. Stange and Mosers are nice pices but damn they get pricey fast! One was around $4500 and the average cost seemed to be around $3500. Came across the QP 9" and of all the rearend setups, it was the most affordable that can handle Street strip duty, and relatively straight forward bolt on. I did not realize that they have a weird way of mounting the torque arm compared to even of 9" ford axles.

IMO if QP just eliminated that funky torque arm bracket, moved the tabs on the housing closer to the center and had their own torque arm to go with it they'd have a winner.

Yea I got a center section from them also just with 3.25 US gear and a grizzly locker they set them up perfect. It seemed like qp has the best price on a complete center than anywhere else.

Did you go with tapered bearings or sealed ball bearings on the axles??
