Default shortening a regular ford 9"

Ok, so i have a normal moser ford 9".

What would it cost to shorten this thing up 2" on each side.

Do i need new axles? Or can they be modified?

And what do you think it will cost?

Lastly, what is entailed, can this be done with someone who knows how to use a welder and shorten the axle tubes or what. Thanks in advance!
