keep abs and traction with 9"?
what about a 12 bolt?
and the 8.8"?
The answers should be in a sticky. my personal opinion.
IMHO, I would not want to keep ABS or TCS. ABS sucks when your trying to stop the car and it kicks in....It will also ruin a set of rotors.
3 channel (abs only): 12-bolt. I've heard some 8.8's were made to work...but nobody is mass-producing the 8.8's now that I'm aware of. Also, a few people have custom fab'd a 9" to work...but most of the ways I have heard involved using a machine shop.
4 channel (abs & tcs/asr): 12 bolt, 8.8, or 9"
you want neither: 12 bolt, 8.8, 9"
My fiance and I want to keep abs on both cars...never seen it ruin a set of rotors...I'm glad when I kicks in because it means the wheels aren't going to lock on me and I'm not going to skid (at least from the brakes locking.) I used to drive a front-wheel drive car without abs. That thing was worse in the winter and on wet roads than either fbody we have is. It would skid and lock up the brakes so easily. I'll keep my abs..unfortunately for the one car...it means a 12-bolt and not a 9".
