Default How long with 4.10s?

I'm sure this question is asked often, but I'm curious for my scenario how long 4.10s would last with the stock 10 bolt. In comparison to other drivers, I am extremely easy on my car. I rarely (and I mean rarely) dump the clutch on this car, and I really don't make all too many WOT runs with the car either (this close to DC, I hit a stop sign or red light about every block). Will 4.10s break my rear end if I'm this easy on the car? I'd like to put a Moser 12 bolt in, but just don't have that kind of coin right now. TIA.

It all depends how you drive. One of friends broke his rear shifting into second on the street, but it lasted MANY passes down the track. So once again, there are many factors that are beyond our control that will determine how long it will last. This was in a 6 speed.

With and auto, it will last quite a bit longer.

What tires ya gonna be running? Just so you dont run anything stickier than a nitto DR, and you have some suspension work to prevent wheel hop it should last quite a while. Im going with 4.10's in my 10 bolt this summer.

I only have street tires right now; BFG KDWSs. My only suspension upgrades are subframe connectors and a strut tower brace.

18 months now, Nitto DR's on rears year round, rear is whining pretty bad, ( couple 5k clutch dumps on Slicks did that) the way you describe how you drive honestly why bother with gears just get a better rear

I think youll be fine. Make sure they are setup properly, and get some LCA's to help with wheelhop.

Do you need to do a panhard rod when you do LCAs?

No, are you lowered? If so I would do the adj panhard rod and LCA's with relocation brackets.

2 years and 2 months and about ~16,000 miles on 4.10's they are still pretty quiet. Street only. F1's & GSC's so far.

No, I haven't lowered the car yet. That idea has gone by the wayside since I put on the TSP Catted-Y and I'm still not sure how much I can safely lower it. I already scrape a little on steep angles.

About 120 miles on my 4.10s so far. I run Nitto 555Rs with Spohn LCAs w/Relocation Brackets and a Spohn Panhard Bar. I'm not concerned about the rear breaking anytime soon. Mine's held up to a lot of drag slick launches at the track and it's doing fine. I think people really exagerate how delicate the poor little 10 bolt is lol.

You should be fine if you drive your car like that. Mine has been fine since they were set up properly. I'm not sure how many miles but they have survived a little wheel hop.

I had ~35K miles and 3 years on mine. The whole time I was running 315 Nitto drag radials on the back and hit them with a 125 shot. I never dropped the clutch on them and they are still going. I have a 12 bolt now and a friend of mine is still using my 10 bolt with the same 4.10s.
