Default Cast iron vs. Nodular iron third member?

At what power level is a nodular iron third member necessary? I have a cast iron third member in my 9-inch right now. I'll only be making about 450 rwhp on motor, so the current rearend setup should be plenty. However, I will also put 300 hp worth of spray through it. My car's 3600 pounds and it's a six-speed. Should I consider upgrading to a nodular third member?

Does he at least have a Daytona pinion support? I'm not worried about my cast case when running on motor, but am starting to think it would be a gamble on spray.

I don't know if he had that, probably not. He had one of the first Moser 9" housings for a 4th gen.
