shim rearend for posi?
I am pretty easy on my car and it will probably remain mostly stock. I don't have posi and heard that you can put shims in the rear end to get it. Is this a bad idea because it would add torque and could break something since the 10 bolts are weak?
I think i want posi just because i want both tires spinning, but is it not a big deal and not somethin i should worry about?

I think you have been mis-informed. I am no expert on rear ends, but I do not see anyway to shim an open differential and make it a posi. On the older style clutch type limited slip (Eaton style) differentials, you could shim the clutch packs and tighten them up, damn near make a spool out of one, but the only way I know of making an open rear into a posi (spool actually) is to weld the spider gears....It worked for a while.
