My Thread Being that this is my thread and my question. I have done a lot of research on the subject now and I still don't feel like I know enough yet to make a good decision. To me the 9" and the Dana are in the same boat, they are both better than a 12 bolt and they are both heavier than a 12 bolt. I would rather put a 8.5 10 bolt in than a 12 bolt. My goal is to just put a rear end in and forget about it. Especially when my bank statement comes in.
I agree with mzoomora. the dana 60 is stronger than the 9 inch thats a proven fact. the ring gear size and housing is bigger and stronger. what differential did gm choose to use in there famous ZL1 camaro? the dana 60. if you want brute strength the D60 cant be beat like mzoomora said 35 spline axles in a stock unit. 30 pounds is a small price to pay for piece of mind. the only reason i went with the 9 inch from moser is because its the stongest ready to bolt-in unit made. if someone made a d60 ready to go i would have got that.

Well I think I am gonna go with the Dana 60. One to be different, and two I think in the long run it might cost the same but I will have a better rear end. Once I start aquiring parts I will post pics and info regarding the transformation.

Verdad Gallardo He says it's around the same weight of a regular small block, and he can get a ton of torque out of it..that's what moves you anyway. But he can't run a/c with the current position of the turbo, so that's the only thing holding him back right from doing it. Too damn hot here in Tx.
