No its not another "which rear" thread
Well its time to order a rear and i have decided to go with a 12-bolt. I was gonna go with Strange but since they have a 4-6 week wait...and it may be longer according to the Strange tech guy, I think i may have to change my mind and go with a moser. Now, am i making a mistake buy switching or moser is a good enough quality peice and i shouldnt have any problems?

I am partial to Strange.
But if not, you may want to get the Moser somewhat unassembled. Some folks have had bad ring-pinion set up.
The Strange is also a direct swap with the stock 10 bolt, even an idiot like myself could have dropped it in by myself, but didn't have a lift.

I had the same dilema. I decided waiting for the Strange was the right choice for me. It did take 5 weeks, but Strange was upfront and told me it would take that long.

other than the sway bar the moser is a direct bolt in too. In my opinion the moser is a stronger rear(bigger and beefier) with more room to grow, not to mention their policy on axles- if you break the 31 splines, they will give you 33's, break them they give you 35's, etc.

i talked to BMR who no longer sells moser 12 bolts but sells strange 12 bolts and i asked why. the tech told me it was because moser uses 4 bolts to to bolt the torque arm to the hog head and strange uses the stock straight through design. he said the reason the 4 bolt design is bad is because you cannot keep them bolted to the rear end. you can also over tighten them and strip the threads and your screwed. he told me they have tried everything (locktight, lock washers, locktight and lock washers) the only way they could get them to stay in was tack it with a welder. my friend put a moser 12 bolt in his car and one of the bottom bolts fell out 2 days later. im not bashing moser im just telling you what BMR told me! i just ordered a moser 9". thats what you should go with! oh the tech also told me that they have spoken with moser about the problem and they wont do anything about it!

I agree that the 4 dolt design isn't the greatest idea, but you need to understand that its like that to keep the most mass in the pumpkin making it stronger than stranges setup. Just think, do you want your stronger 12 bolt to be of the same size and design as the weaker 10 bolt? This isn't coming out the way I mean it too but I hope you guys get the idea. Larger axle tubes and larger pumpkin ultimately mean more strength.
