upgraded posi unit.....
i want to be pushing around 360hp this summer, and my car is already going into the dealer for some rear end work. Im thinking my posi unit has gone. (i have all the signs...one wheel peal, some clunking, and howling) i don't think i will have the money for a 12 both. if i upgraded my posi to this: http://www.lmperformance.com/787/1.html do you think that would work, or atleast hold up for a while. I will be drag racing maybe once or twice...6sp car

If you want to stick with the Torsen type, and are willing
to throw that much coin, I strongly suggest you go check
with Strano about the T-2R. Same or better beef, but with
even higher bias ratio and a preload so you get some thrust
even if the other wheel is in the air. The price difference
from the SLP unit is small but the performance is -way-
superior. T-2R rules for the street and autocross and road
course. It is not an ideal drag strip differential, I don't think
it likes to be held in high slip for long periods (unlike the wet
clutch types which, at least, tolerate that kind of thing
better).
