Posi Chatter I'm running a Moser 12 bolt and Eaton 800lb posi. For about the last 8-12 months I have been getting a chunks-chunka-chunka sound when making sharp low speed turns, like getting into a parking place. I thought I had a suspension issue or the backing place bolts where coming loose. Everything is good and tight, but I still get the noise. After doing some more research, it sounds like this maybe posi chatter. I'm assuming that the clutch plates are worn and it is begining to chatter.
Anybody have experince with this?
I'm thinking that I just need to rebuild the clutches in the rear.

You need some friction modifier. I used the GM stuff several times and finally tried the Motorcraft stuff and it worked much better. I used Lucas lube with 2 bottles of Motorcraft friction modifier and all is quiet.
I tried 2 tubes of friction modifier, and mine still does it around tight turns. I find if I feed in just a touch of throttle, instead of coasting, it will keep it from happening.
And when the fluid is cold, the thing practically behaves like a spool when I'm backing out of the driveway.

I have the rear for about 4 years now and I have run the GM LS additive without a problem. Without the LS additive it would groan but not liek this. I'll give the Ford stuff a try and see if it helps. It's cheaper than the posi rebuid kit
