Do you thinkI bought a bad 10 bolt?
Well I opted to upgrade to a 4th gen rear end with 3.42 gears and posi over my 2.73 open diff at the beginning of my project, so I bought a ten bolt of somone on here for pretty cheap and I didnt have any concerns with it at first but then I was a having a little trouble spinning it freely but I decided to put it in because it might have just been a coincidnence.
So its been in the car for a while but the car isnt done yet and I was just able to put the front wheels on the car yesterday and I wanted to push it out of the garage to clean up a little since the car has been sitting in the same spot for 9 months or so. It was very hard to push and took two guys just to get it out of the garage...which isnt right because I used to be able to push the car by myself. So we got it back in the garage and jacked up the rear end to see how it spun and it was VERY tight. It took a good amount of effort to turn the wheel forwards and even more effort to get it turn backwards. There also seemd to be some play in the axles. Another thing to note is there is no fluid in the rear end yet.
I am just wondering if this are signes of a bad rear end or am I just getting ahead of myself? The reason I ask is I Id love to go 12 bolt but as you could have guessed the funds are low.

-My car has never run with this ten bolt in it (installed during motor swap).
-I tried to push the car out of my garage for the first time but it was very hard to push
-Jacked up the rear end to test how it spun and it was tight going forwards and very tight going in reverse. Some play in axles.
-No oil in rear end yet
-Are these signs of a bad rear end?

I would like you to open up the cover and see if the gears are in good condition. I really don't think the bearings are bad, it would still roll easily, but if the gears are chipped or missing teeth then it gets hard to push.
If there is no oil in it then that is the problem. Put some oil in it and it will be fine. The Torsens are very hard to turn without oil, the helical cut gears need lots of lubrication to move smoothly.
