Hard shifting

When starting out in the morning, its hard to shift from 1-2. I have to give more force then normal to get it into gear. There is no grinding and it gets better as the car warms up but doesn't feel as good as going into 3rd +. It doesn't happen when going int any other gear.
I'm getting a new slave, clutch and fluid installed and was hoping that would cure the issue.
Any ideas on what the problem is? I was thinking syncros but wouldn't it grind?

I don't know if I'm right here, but I think it's just because it's not warmed up. Try "shifting" a few times before you ever move and see if there's a difference...
