I recently installed my tranny cooler, and lost quite a bit of fluid due to my crappy connection of one of the lines. This happened while i was testing it down the street and luckily i was able to get it home as it lost so much fluid so quickly that is wouldnt shift. Got it home, fixed the connection, filled with fluid drove around.. repeated till the level was ok. The car seemed to be normal except for a small hesitation on changing each gear. I checked the level this morning, and it seemed rather high. Would too much fluid do this, as it was near the HOT level mark when the car was cold. If i should worry about it how do i go about draining a little?
Thanks

How much fluid did you have to add? You should check the fluid level again while it's hot and see how over full it is. The easiest way I think to drain a little fluid, is to disconnect the return line going to your cooler back near the radiator and put another hose on it going to a bucket and start the car real quick, then back off again, as it pumps fluid out pretty fast. Pump out a couple of courts, then hook everything back up and check it. after adding fluid you don't need to drive it around, just let it run for a bit then go through all the gears then re-check the fluid.

Sorry Guys.. problem solved, reading was high due to the difficulty of obtaining a CORRECT reading on this curvy dipstick tube Fluid unfortunately was low about a quart or so (after i had already added a gallon), the real reading was right below the 80F level when it was hot. Car was run about 50 miles like this.. so im hoping the tranny cooler will at least offset my stupidity in running it low.. in terms of tranny life Sometimes to the most simplistic things are troublesome.. lol
BTW-- I think i lost about 1.25 gallons, thats how much i needed to add to run normal again (Damn slipper hose clamps! )
Thanks
