Powertrax Locking differential?

Powertrax Locking differential?

Anyone ever tried one of these? They call it "the worlds first 100% streetable locker". I'd like to know how one of these would hold up in a 10 bolt. Unfortunately I'm $400 short right now. It can be seen on a popular performance parts website that rhymes with "eggs"

I have heard good things about power trax but if you were to put one of those in your 10 bolt then you just have to worry about the ring and pinion going next, axles, things of that nature. Just not a good idea to put money into your 10 bolt.

Weaker than stock, noisy, etc......would turn your 10 bolt into a time bomb with a shorter fuse. I would spend the extra money on an Eaton.

Friend has it in his 9-in and loves it, will be putting one in my 12-bolt shortly!!!

A 9" is a different story, it has a strong stock case. But even then they will strip teeth. At my work we were one of the first distributors for them a while back, and they were constantly stripping teeth. For a light off road vehicle they are fine, but for any performance I would not reccomend it.

Then maybe I have been hearing wrong thanks for the Info. I thought Powertrax made a good locker. Ohwell 31 Spline Soft Locker is still almost unoticeable to me.
