Truck 12 bolt doable?

I have a chance to grab two 12 bolt (truck) rears for 250 bucks friday. I was going to try and convert them for my T/A by myself. I know the pinion is a little smaller but is that a big concern? Just looking to get a little info from some people about a truck rear and if this is a good idea.

There is a bearing so you can put a car gear into a truck housing. Good luck.

GREAT!! 3.90's would be a dream. One last question does moser or strange sell the bracket i need for the torque arm?

I'm also curious in this what truck rear would be strong and ideal for a 98 z28. and how hard is it to convert over. Also how would they hold up perform. Is this a bad idea. Dont mean to hijack

I have heard people say that, but have never seen the bearing. The OD of the inner bearing on a car is much larger than a the truck. The bearing ID would be almost the same as the OD to make it fit in the truck housing.
