What should my next mod be?
Right Now I've come up with a few ideas. They are:
1 BG RAM AIR
2 Under Drive Pulleys
3 Tires (But what kind? and should it just be on the back or the front?)
If any of you guys come up with anything else your suggestions and opinions would be appreciated
Thanks, and Happy Holidays
Floyd
As for the torque converter, it's really the best thing money can buy for an A4. I was just like you are, seemed like a big deal and lots of hassle but it really wasn't and it was track proven for almost a whole second in the quarter mile (depends on which brand and model you go with though). A stalled otherwise stock F-Body will usually beat an F-Body with most all other bolt-ons combined. So it is really worth saving up the extra money.
As for the pulleys... they're a mixed bag really, some people notice nothing track or dyno. Other people notice track improvements but no better dyno numbers some people notice both, other people just get knock retard from them.
Then as for tires... if your tires are still in good shape there's no sense in replacing them now, thats how I look at it anyway. I just got a new set of rims and my first new tires for my SS and I went with Bridgestone Potenza RE730's. They were $168 a piece of tire rack and for that price, there isn't a better tire out there in my opinion. A friend has the Nittos and despite what he says, I think they're overhyped after seeing the kind of traction he gets (not very good).
If I were you, I'd get a set of drag radials just for the track. Thats what I've done up until now (and will continue to do). I have a set of crappy old 16" firebird rims that I mounted BFG Comp TA Drag Radials on, for a stock to a decently modified F-Body they hold pretty darn good at the track with a decent sized burnout. I hooked 60' times of 1.7 with far less than desirable traction after getting my converter - it's time for ET Streets for me.
I had good luck porting and polishing
MAF and TB but just my.02 Ialso have
