Rearend noise...need help!

Rearend noise...need help! I have an oscillating (sp?) noise from the right rear tire area when I am between 20-40 mph. It goes away if I pull up on the parking brake(ie rear brakes only) and when I release the pressure on the handle the noise comes back slowly. I recently replaced the stock rotors w/ Powerslots thinking that should solve it....nope still the same annoying noise. If I fold down the rear seat it gets much more noticeable. Has anybody experienced this? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Rearend noise...need help! LOL... I have the same thing. It's the cables for the parking brake. They are right above the driveshaft. You need to lube then up... I'm gonna try some white lithium grease on mine.

Re: Rearend noise...need help! John, that sounds to easy to be true! But I'll take it and try it. What exactly though are you referring to when you say "lube them up"? The outside of the cable or inside? And how is it being effected by the driveshaft which is internal to the rearend? I'll take a closer look and maybe I can figure it out, but any clarification would be much appreciated.

Re: Rearend noise...need help! John, must be late....I just realized you said driveshaft not axle.... so you mean exterior of the cable? I'll get the car up and check it out and get some lube out. Does the sound stop because the cable moves under braking pressure?

I looked under the car and found the cables above the drive shaft as you indicated, but could you be more specific on lubing them up. I really appreciate the clarification. Re: Rearend noise...need help! from under the car... look at the trans/driveshaft tunnel. Find the parking brake line... follow it to the "spliter". That's where the noise comes from. It right before the rear u joint.
