Default Where is center of gravity on f-body

Has anyone here (sponsors, etc?) ever determined where the center of gravity is on a stock f-body - or have the data?

E.G. 20 inches high, 50 inches forward of back tire, etc.

If not, are the above at least reasonable guesses?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Taking a wild-*** guess, I would think it's just above (6" or so) where the torque arm meets the transmission...kinda like GM did their homework, huh?

Another guess: Since 54% of the weight is over the front tires, I would go 54% of the wheelbase forward the rear axle (around 54-55" forward) and about 18-20" above the ground. Funny, it's still just above the torque arm front mount.

Duh, yep - of course the weight distribution would tell us, so the 54-55 figure sounds good.

And yep, it makes sense that the center of gravity would be above the torque arm mounting point, since that would probably lead to a squat on launch - which we all know our cars do in stock form.

That would also explain why lowering might actually help traction a little - since it lowers the center of gravity and so increases your anti-squat characteristics.

Does anyone happen to know (or have access to a car on a lift) the length of the torque arm, and the length of the LCA's? I'm trying to get an autocad setup of our car's suspension to test out some ideas.

Thanks,
Chris

Torque arm is about 48" long (stock) and the stock LCAs are 19.5" center to center.
