Fluid change, now whining?!

Fluid change, now whining?! This weekend i changed my rear end fluid. I have a 2001 ss with the optional auburn diff from slp. This morning it started whining while i was pulling through the parking lot at work. I used non synthetic limited slip gear oil (thats what the shop told me to use with the aubirn diff). i changed the pinion seal about 2 months ago and was carful to mark the nut. I had no problems or noises untill this fluid change. Also i just started using a nx wet kit currently jetted for a 100 shot. i've only used it about 6 times and only through 2nd and 3rd. i'm running a window switch and a wot switch and only sprayed twice after the fluid change. i was wondering if anyone had the same problem or had any advice.

gm limited slip Hey man definitely use the gm syn gear oil. I have a 2001 Chevy Pickup that I have for a company vehicle and we rebuilt the rear in it. First we used the gm oil after the rebuild and it ran fine. No noises or nothing. Then the cover got cracked and we had to dump the fluid again to replace the cover. We couldn't get the gm stuff since they were out at the time and we needed it badly (right now) so we used a different type of syn gear lube and that damn thing whines like my old lady! Try the gm stuff first. Good luck Chris

Sorry if i seem like a smart *** but, get new manuals. The Auburn uses clutches and reccomends NON synthetic gear oil. But i will check with SLP to double check my facts, and thanks for the imput.

Verdad Gallardo The 80W-90 Mineral Based Oil does not have the limited slip additive. The 75W-90 Synthetic manufactured by Redline and Royal Purple does contain the needed additive. Auburn reccommends the 80W-90 Non Synthetic Oil for use with their differentials. They know their diffs best and clutches hate synthetic since it adds to the slippage.
Torsen - Use Synthetic
Auburn - No Synthetic
What you need to do is drain the diff oil. Add ~2 quarts of 80W-90 and 1 bottle of GM Limited Slip Additive.

about dont know who/what to trust anymore. ill have to get me some 80/90 then
just wanna check too, auburn, last i checked having the rear in the air, turning one tire the otehr would turn the opposite direction, is this right? if not how can you tell its auburn, this is the only way i know

Do not use synthetic. Another tip. After you drain it put the additive in and then add the fluid. This will help mix the additive. Mine has always had gear whine. I was told that SLP set these up with the gears loose.
