I read this in PHR, They dynoed a crate LS1 and the valves floated pretty bad at 5,800 rpm. They then put in the blue LS6 vavlesprings and the engine could wind up to 6,600 before the numbers fell again. The engine peaked at 6,400 rpm with 454 hp while carrying over 450 hp from 6,000 rpm to 6,500 rpm. Torque was still 372 at 6,400 rpm. Just from swapping springs the engine made 30 hp and 30 lb.ft at 5,900 rpm due to stock springs floating. So what I'm thinking is to get my 4.10's, put in probably 918's with titanium retainers and bump the rev limiter to 6,500 and the stock cam should still pull according to this article and be much better off going through the traps at 115 plus.
