10 bolt

hey , now when someone says they blew there rear end, or they say your going to blow your 10 bolt

what does that mean

just blow teh gear up, or rip the hole 10 bolt in half ,, im so lost?

you can twist/break axles, break/blow spider gears, and shred teeth off the ring gear and/or the pinion. or if its installed wrong, you can grind yours gears down, like im currently doing.

there are alot of things that can happen to a rear end, especially the sissy 7.5 10 bolt.

Yup, I stripped about 6 teeth off of the ring gear and screwed up the pinion gear as well.

damn,, people are telling me to build teh 10 bolt like throw sum moser axels in ther and strengthen it up,, can you do that????

after having to regear my 10 bolt once, and needing to do it again now, i say its not worth modding the 10 bolt. im gonna drive this sucker til it pops, and hope i can save enough for a 12 bolt before then.

Ain't it a Bitch! They can build a NOPI RICER where it can run 170 mph in the quarter and Chevy can't keep these 10 bolts together.I'm in the same shape as you with my 2.73's bringing up the rear.Do the 12 bolts or the 9 inchers hold up the best? And what kind of rearend do these 400 hp gto's run?
