Gears
I have a 2002 TA with stock everything except exhaust. I was wanting to put some 4.10 gears in it. I need to know if i can just put them in or do i need to get some other parts to go along with them? And how much of a difference would they make?

I say you would take off about 3 tenths.
Make sure you take it to a place were they know what they are doing.
Also make sure you go with gears from GM if not they are going to whine like crazy.

gears
what gears are you running now? 2.73?
I went from 2.73 to 3.73s in my 3rd gen. I doubt it took more than a half second off my quarter mile, but around town its really nice - i can always find a gear right where I want it. I would get a girdle and and axle tube brace kit if you are going to be launching it. Also make sure your crush sleeve is setup right or else you might end up with the pinion walking up the ring gear.
and u'll need an install kit too.

go with the 4.10's I had them put in parts and labor for $$400 and loved then droped 4 tenths and more fun in town. did not do a damn thing to beef it up but then again it broke (but i put them in with 9000 miles on car and broke them at 50,000)

I agree go with a 12-bolt before 4:10s. I broke my 10-bolt with the 3:42s and now I got my 12 bolt with the 4:10s and they are Awesome. But there is no reason to invest in that rearend since you probably break it anyway.
