I was wondering about this mod for my factory 10 bolt axles. Does anyone know exactly how much weight this saves and if there are any gains to be had? What about cost?
Thanks

Are the axles really big enough to be gun drilled effectively/safely?
I wouldn't spend any money on the stock rear anyway, esp. something like this.
If you want some gun drilled axles get a 9" with some 41-45 splines. A 45 spline gun drilled axle was lighter than my 33 spline!

I think I can run mid-11's on this stock rear for along time and not have too many problems. Switching to a rear that weighs 90 pounds more just so i can run lighter axles makes no sense.
I just want to know if i can further lighten this one.
