Default break a stock rearend on street tires?

is it possible to break a stock SS rearend by lets say reving it to 3 grand and dropping the clutch while on street tires? i know that if you were running slicks, it'd tear the $h!t outta it. all i have done is a lid, cutout, and kumho supra's.

I broke one with a 305 and an auto with an evil shift kit on street tires in my 89 Formula. I took 8 teeth off of the ring gear, and several off of the pinion. That car made 200 hp tops.... However, it saw some high speed use and got hot, I think I took the temper out of the gears and that's why they were easy to break. Your results may vary.
