Need Tires Ok im sure this has been asked several times, but i couldnt find anything on the search.
Well my tires are coming to an end soon, and i need to replace them.
I want sticky tires, I'll use them mostly for normal street use but I want them to stick better when i go dragging. Also i need to take the corners, and hold up for a decent amount of miles, not super long though.
I'm hearing alot about nittos how well do those work for the street, how many miles can you put on 'um?
and where is the best place to get them

Re: Need Tires Well, you were hearing right, Nitto 555Rs are the best street/drag tire made. I run them all year round. Nothing hooks like Nittos on the street.

Re: Need Tires Nittos are a great overall tire, but dont expect them to last real long. if you can accept 10-15K with mild use (ofcourse all depending on how many burnouts), then go for it! i love them but only run them 3/4 of the year. in the cold, they turn like rocks. they are not the best for track use though <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0"> but for overall tire, i think it is the best (considering the price) with looks, traction, and durability

Re: Need Tires I don't think ET Streets were made to be used on the "street"! They are just a DOT legal tire so that you can use them in that class of racing. With that soft of a compound on the street, I feel sorry for your underbody and anyone behind you, you'll be picking up EVERYTHING on the street. It even says on hoosiers site (link to it through one of our sponsors) that they weren't actually designed to be used on the street. My guess is 5000-7000 miles, but I could be way off since I've never used them!

I’d guess less than that. BFG DRs aren’t even as soft as ET Streets and they’re pretty much done in about 3000/5000 miles...
I would not recommend ET streets for regular street/highway type driving. You’re just asking for trouble...

I’d guess less than that. BFG DRs aren’t even as soft as ET Streets and they’re pretty much done in about 3000/5000 miles...
