Gear Ratio's for 10bolt??
I'm aware of these gear ratios.....
2.73
3.08
3.23
3.42
3.73
4.10
4.56
What I'm wondering about is if there are any of the other gear ratios available for it like these....
3.55
3.89
4.30
I'm switching from an A4 to an M6 and I know I need to ditch my 2.73 ring and pinion, but what I would really like to go with (I think) is a 3.55 or 3.89 gear. I don't want to buy a 12 bolt or a 9 inch because the car isn't a drag car and it will just be slower and get worse gas mileage.
I want GREAT gas mileage......not just because of the temporary spike in prices either, I've always wanted good mileage. My A4 car right now gets an average of 22mpg and somewhere in the 25mpg range on the highway. I rode with a friend of mine in a stock M6 car to Dallas and back and we got 410miles to 13.5 gallons.......31mpg which is INSANE compared to my car!!! I want as close to that as I can get and still have some performance too.

3.90 is available and I believe there are 4.30's available for the 10 bolt. There are also different series carriers too. like if your car came with 2.73's thats a 2 series gear and 3.23's and 3.42's are a 3 series.
