Default 4:10's and the TA cover stud+girdle kit....

does it really help strengthen the stock 10-bolt Torsen rear-end? I'm not convinced yet of putting 4:10's in my M6 yet knowing how weak the GM 10 bolt is without reinforcing the rear in some way. Is this a good product? Please help convince me. Any problems so far with your 4:10's in your 10-bolt M6? Help convince me to drop a set in mine.

I guess it really depends on the amount of power you are putting down.. the Girdle will help to keep things from flexing. the ring gear for 3:73 and 4:10's have the same # of teeth but the 4:10 pinion teeth really get thin.. I have not broke mine but did have to get a new set of gears when the noise got louder than the radio.. I am running 3:73's Jason

Actually power has very little to do with it. It's 99% traction dependant. A stock LS1 has the POWER to grenade a stock rear with little trouble....IF it hooks.

If you don't believe me, throw a set of ET streets on your Stock LS1 and launch it at Redline 4-5 times. Yes, there are exceptions that will survive (for a while longer)...but MOST will not.

I was going to get a girdle a while back....but then I figured when I launch the girdle will probably just save the gears...thats what they are meant to do....they save the gears for you MOST of the time....its a good thing to have
