ABS question

ABS question quick question guys..
im getting a hook up on a slightly used strange 12 bolt from the place i get my SS worked on. i called the owner of the shop tonight and he can't remember if the 12 bolt is traction control or not. my SS does not have traction control. he said that if the rear does have TC then what can be done is snip the wire, but i'll lose the ABS. my question is A) are there any guys on here who have done that? and B) is it that big of a deal..it's not my daily driver and i dont drive it in the rain/snow.
