Default help with picking rear end

I'm looking into getting a new rear end. What type of options are there and what will be best for my setup? Thanks. Want to keep ABS and TCS.

How does a 12 bolt compair to a 9 inch? I was leaning towards a 9 in because there are more gear options and it's reviews.

I did a ton of research on this board & decided to go with the 9 inch. Mainly because it appears that they are the strongest & I have a M6. I wonder if shipping would be a consideration in your case? A 9 inch can ship UPS as it is shipped separately in different boxes which does not exceed UPS's weight limit.

There are many options for the shipping. I'm more concerned about things like the posi, spool, and what axle splines to go with. Iam concidering the 9 inch with around a 3:50 gear ratio.

I went with the moser housing & 35 spline axles. For gears I went with 4:10's & a spool. I'm still putting it together.

a 9" is super duper over kill for 99% of everyone on this site.
if you have an M6 i would definatly put a spool in it. the only thing people break in a 12 bolt with an M6 is the posi. A spool is no where near as bad as everyone thinks and its a lot cheaper too.
Auto's don't shock the rear as much as sticks so you can run a posi. also don't jump on the band wagon and get the biggest axles they make. thats even more overkill. get some 30 or 31 spline axles. remember the bigger the axles the more power it takes to turn them. there are 8 second race cars running 31 spline axles so you won't hurt them.
qand Lastly don't get a Moser they use a four bolt set up to bolt on the torque arm and have seen more than a few bolts come loose and break torque arms, drive shafts and 12 bolt housings. If you want some back up on this look at BMR's website. they have a disclaimer that says they will not warranty their torque arms if used on a Moser 12 bolt, due to the torque arm bolts set up. Strange uses the two big *** bolts that go all the way thru the rear end just like stock. much stronger and FAR less of a chance of the bolts backing out.

What is the difference between and spool, locker, and a posi. I know I want the 9 in. Plan to make alot more power. Narrowed it down to 31 or 33 splines. Drive shafts. Where to get a good one? What torque arms can I use with the 9 in? Anything else I'm missing?

A spool locks both axles together permanently, a locker locks both axles under power by using a ratchet type system & allows them to unlock for turning etc, & a posi locks both axles under power by using a clutch type system and allows them to unlock for turning etc.

So spool is the only one that lets both tires brake loose around turns?
