Best Gears for An Auto Vette I accediently posted this in the LT1 section. I didn't get a response so this is a repost.
Found out recently that my Vette still has the stock 2.59 gears installed. Some good news is that she has already went 12.9's with these gears.
So I think a lower gear and a set of stickys will really put her deep into the 12's. What do you guys think?
What gears would you guys go with? BTW, she is an automatic. My plan right now is to only drive the Vette every now and then, maybe a couple of time a month but still don't want to go too crazy. I am thinking 3.54 or 3.73 tops.

Don't they make low gears for the 2.59 carrier too? I was reading about different gear manufacturers machining their gears thicker (If I remember correctly) to work with the first series carrier so a carrier swap isn't necessary. I hope this is the case, I don't want to have to swap carriers.
on a Vette with 2.59s going 12.90s especially if its one of those homo purple Vettes
