shifter b&m or hurst? i am looking for short throw shifter and would like to know what you think is best for my 98 6 speed. hurst or b&m thanks for input.

Re: shifter b&m or hurst? I have the Hurst billet plus with Lou's short stick. It works great. I've also used the Pro 5.0 with Lou's short stick, also great. I think the key to any aftermarket shifter is the Lou's short stick. Pro 5.0 is the maker of their shifter.

Isn't the Lou's short stick just altering the shifters length.
Is there a true 2nd to 3rd no missed shift out there.

Re: shifter b&m or hurst? I had a pro 5.0 in my T/A and i loved it. I never tried "Lous short stick" but my shifter height was good for me. IMO the pro 5.0 gives you the best 2-3 shift because of its "spring" that allowns it to be pulled into gear when making that shift. To me there is none better, and i will choose pro 5.0 again for my next f-body. <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" />

Re: shifter b&m or hurst? I've run the Hurst BP, Kirban and new style Ripper.
The Ripper is by far the best. Good feel, crisp action and good placement. I can move the shifter forward or backward about 1/2" to accommodate personal preference.
One thing to consider ...
Using a shortened stick will hinder finding the higher gears and reverse if you ever use a 5pt harness.
