Default 373's or 410's?

Finally got my trans am a few days ago and i was wondering how much gas mileage i will be losing by stepping up to 410's vs getting the 373's instead? Considering i know jack **** about ls1's right now i dont really know if i need anything else done to it before i mod it up...let me know please thanks

I don't think that would be a very good first mod. There are several mods you should do first that won't kill your gas mileage and give you power and killer sound.

I'd check into free mods, lid, catback, and headers before getting an aggressive gear. Especially 4.10's, that's pretty steep. Are you looking for a quick daily driver, mostly a track car, or somewhere inbetween?

I plan on having it as a daily driver but im hopeing to get a second car so i dont put a lot of miles on it..but even if i do drive it everyday i want to make it fast.
Since i dont know very much would a 2000 ta ws6 be an a4 or a m6?

if you have an M6 i would get the 4:10s, but like someone else said, there are many other things i would do first. But 4:10s are the way to go, and didnt "kill" my gas milege.

If you get gears, you will need a tune to correct your speedometer reading since it will throw it off.

Take the advice given here, and do the first couple bolt ons. Full exhaust, Lid, free mods, nothing too major. These will wake up the car a little bit once it is all said and done and it will sound pretty good. Then you're ready for gears and a mail order or dyno tune for the added hp and other things.

I have 3.73s in my LT1 a4 and I love it. When I get a beefier rear, I will be looking for 3.90s or more.
