12 bolt brake-in

how many miles am i looking at and some heat cycles on the gears before i can go beat on it?

Ever read the instructions to a Moser 12 bolt? LOL...

Step 1: Install rear and run in reverse briefly

Step 2: Pull to the line <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

Dunno about the Strange 12 bolts.

I put about 5 heat cycles / 100 miles on my car before taking it to the track. I also changed the oil before taking it to the track. I did JBWeld a couple of small magnets on the lower part of the diffy cover, and they did pick up a number of fine particles from the 'break in'.

As for the instructions above, that's for the 'drag racing' rear end. <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0"> The 'street' version says to drive about 10 miles.

Mine whines a little, but not terribly loud... Yet. <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
