It'll get you a -cheaper- rear end but you will have
to add, and adjust, a proportioning valve to make
the braking balanced for best stopping. That, and
you could lose 10 pounds of stuff off the nose end
I suppose.
For a street car that might see the occasional
panic stop, I'd stick with the ABS. For a drag car
and -maybe- extreme road course, where driver
control is desired and panic events are not a big
concern (driver able to properly respond at
threshold by reflex?) eliminating the ABS system
for a traditional, proportioned, direct braking setup
might make some performance sense.
But in the context of rear ends I think it's a cost /
options sort of deal.
