ported MAF's ??
The engine calculates "load" based off the MAF readings - a lower airflow will lead to lower load readings.
These lower load numbers caused reduced line pressure to the transmission, increase wear and leading to other problems.
At lest that is how i understand it.

If I remember correctly, it solved problems with the converter locking and unlocking.
Haven't seen anything about it in a while.
Problems: It can lead to glazing of the clutches in the TC and contribute to burning up tranny clutches. Doesn't happen to everybody, but it has happened to some.
Turning the MAF around is not a longterm solution IMO, I'd rather correct the underlying problem.
On a side note, if I were to plan my setup for a supercharger, I would want the screen to remain intack, correct?
Why can't someone produce some ends WITH the screen but without the airfoil? <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" />
