Default Getting 3.73

I am buying 3.73 for my 99 SS m6 tomorrow and was wondering if $500 installed is a good price? Also, will there be an easily noticable gain in torque? Thanks

I am also wanting to buy 3:73 gears for my SS. I am curious to see how it turns out especially with an automatic tranny. I was also considering a stall converter as well. Let me know if your 1/4 times improve and how much!!

I just had 3.73 installed in my 99 Z28 m6 it was not a big gain but you can feel the difference. These gears make it easier to launch and the car does not bog as much as with the 3.42 gears. The only reason I changed out to 3.73 is because I blew out the rear end. If this never happened I don’t think I would be swapping out gears any time soon. I paid more than $500 because I need a new posi unit. With out the posi unit it would have been $750 to do a gear swap that’s including ALL parts and labor.

Yeah..........3:73's? You'll barely feel a difference from the 3:42's

With 4.10's there's a bigger chance of breaking my 10-bolt and I really don't want to have to buy a 12-bolt

i went from 4.11's to 3.73, car feels a lil slower, but not that bad, at least im not shifting to 4th at 80 something. I paid 400 total for parts and labor. Sounds kinda steep to me

How much time can I expect to shave off my et with my new 3.73's? Around .2 or so?

Do you have an aftermarket stall? If not, at least .5, like Hoss says.
