Transmission Mount????

Transmission Mount???? Ok well now I am confused, so I am turning to you guys for help. Here is my situation. I will be installing a clutch this weekend and will be replacing the trans mount. What is the best trans mount to use? I have purchased the ENERGY SUSPENSION TRANS MOUNT and am hoping that this would be a good mount to install. What do you guys think and/or recomend? Thanks..Michael
Re: Transmission Mount???? I use Energy Suspension. Honestly, I'm not even aware of any other companies that make polyurethane tranny mounts, although I'm sure some exist. Anyway, point being, the ES will work great. Easy swap, too.

Re: Transmission Mount???? I just took my Energy Suspension poly trans mount out last week and replaced it with a 1LE mount. I was getting too much Knock Retard with the poly and it was retarding too much timing.
Some guys have had success in grinding off the bumps on the top off the mount. If you get a poly mount, try that, I didn't though.

go to thier clutches and they advise to stay away from the poly mount for the reasons CamM stated.
They suggest the 1LE mount and thats what I'm doing when I do my clutch next weekend.

Re: Transmission Mount???? The 1LE trans mount rubber is little stiffer from the stock one from what I can tell.
If you buy one at the dealer with the GM part number stated in the post above, it will cost around $58. They should have it in stock.
Or, you can order one from SLP (Part number 60005) for $20.

Re: Transmission Mount???? So it is cheaper from SLP...I just called the dealership out here and they want 66.67 for the mount <img src="gr_eek2.gif" border="0"> Man that is nuts. Does SLP sell the same mount??

Re: Transmission Mount???? You can use the stock one for now and change it out later. The SLP one is the same and alot cheaper...just change it when you get one, it's easy to install. Instructions are on http://www.installuniversity.com

I had the ES tranny mount on my 00 M6 and I thought it ruined the way the car drove[Terrible vibration, telegraphed thru the shifter, gas pedal etc. Put the stock one back in and its like night and day. I'm also told 00s and newer have the 1lE mount

I have the prothane poly trans mount from thunder racing...It is a little more noisy, does cause some vibration..but as far as knock retard..I dont think its effecting me..I have ran a new best et/mph with it installed...I dont have A-tap to check for knock retard but my car sure hasnt slowed down because of it. I look at it this way..its so easy to change out, if you dont mind losing the 20 bucks if you dont like it...give it a try...either love it or hate it..

Re: Transmission Mount???? Hmmmmmm.......that's strange. I've had mine in for 3-4 months or so, and I've never had a problem. Weird how car parts are made differently that way. Just out of curiosity, you're getting KR as in high-RPM KR from the tranny mount? That's gay. It's good to know there's the 1LE for backup, though, in case I ever start having problems with my ES. What material is the 1LE mount made from? Up until now, I hadn't known that the 1LE's had a different tranny mount. That's the great thing about this board. Always learning something new!
