auto to a stick

auto to a stick i am new to this forum..and i was looking for some techinical advice....
i have a 1994 Z-28 and i was looking to change from an automatic tranny to a six .
i know that the mechanicals will have to be swapped, but what electronically and/or computer wise has to be changed. i know that i will have to reprogram the computer (but i am not sure how that is done) and i am not sure what (if any ) harnesses have to be changed or added.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
i am going to go to the local chevy dealer, but i am sure that i will get the usual cross eyed look from the parts guy. at least they can provide me with a parts list. i have to chassis manual and i will scan that for the parts that i will need also.
