Default Are the 315/35/17 Nitto Drags too wide for a 9.5 inch wheel???

I keep hearing that Nitto's aren't really as wide as the tire measurement says, and I'm wondering if I can put these 315's on my 9.5" wheels without worrying about cupping and other issues.....anyone do this??

It can and has been done, but a 10.5 or 11 inch rim would be ideal. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />

It will work on a 9.5 fine, but if you want best contact area, an 11" would be premo..

I had 315 BFG DR's on my 9.5 FM5's. To be honest, they didnt fit very well and started to "wrinkle" when i would drop the pressure and race. I wore those things out and went to a 275/40 Nitto DR and loved every minute of that tire.
Pressure on the street was 20lbs.
Pressure at the track was 10-13lbs. <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
