moser 9" on the way..quick question
I heard something about the driveshaft.....about needing a different joint?is that the same thing as this 1350 yoke I keep hearing about?where can I get this stuff needed to make this work and how much will i be looking to spend?
this is a manual tranny car also. anyways,i just want to make sure i have all the bases covered for when everything arrives.
thanks
also what fluid do i need to use?
I found a 9" third member brand new on ebay with 4.33 gears and torq lock posi for 500 shipped,im strapped for money so this look like the best deal i can get.
You will need a Napa 447 1310/1350 U Joint, if you are using your factory driveshaft and the rear has a 1350 yoke. The Moser rears are designed to reuse the stock length driveshaft, you'll have to see if this rear you purchased works with the stock length. Don't measure for it when the rear is hanging down, but when it is at the normal height.
If the axle tubes are 3" in diameter, use 3" muffler clamps to bolt the rear sway bar to the rear-end. Bob
To explain he bought a brand new housing and axles, the $500 is for an ebay center only. I think/hope this is what he got:
"Bolt-In housing and axle packages for GM "F" Bodies with Torque Arm Bracket. Package includes housing, torque arm bracket, axles (up to 35 spline), wheel bearings, wheel studs, and retainer plates"
So he should be good, w/ just the gear lube, exhaust clamps and conversion joint.
