T/A Rear End Girdle Question
For a stock F-body rear end (10 bolt) with the SLP installed Auburn with AAM cover, factory Bilstein suspension, and tubular pan hard rod, will the T/A Rear End Girdle bolt in directly?
The currrent AAM cover have no drain or fill hole, and with the frequent fluid change, I am trying to decide to (1) replace the cover with the SLP AAM girdle with drain hole only, or (2) get myself a T/A cover with both drain and fill hole. If the T/A unit requires no modification, I'll go with the T/A unit and make my life easier.

Re: T/A Rear End Girdle Question
T/A Girdle will fit no problem! I did not get correct length allen cap screws in my hardware bag they were a half inch to short! But other than that all was good and easy!

Re: T/A Rear End Girdle Question
The only time you'd have a problem (like I did) is if you lowered the car and had a 1LE rear swaybar (or equivelent). The swaybar would rub on the corner of the cover. I had to grind one corner of the cover to keep it from rubbing on the swaybar. Was very annoying.

It strengthens the housing and puts a load on the bearings to help prevent breakage, but my car is in the shop as I type this getting an axle and an axle bearing replaced. So, it appears that the weaker link in my rear end was the axle as opposed to the bearings or the gears because I spun the axle, which messed up the bearing. But the gears are okay. I don't know if the girdle had anything to do with that or not. Frankly, I was suprised that's all the damage I had done to it. I guess bogging the motor on that launch attempt saved the gears. Who knows.
I'm told (and I'm beginning to discover first hand) that these GM 10 bolts are junk no matter what, so adding the girdle will most likely just prolong the inevitable depending on how much torque you plan to have. It was fine until I added headers, cam, and a new clutch. But at least it has drain and fill plugs if no other long-term benefit.

Re: T/A Rear End Girdle Question
You mean to say $154 for a fill and drain plug.
Thanks for all your input, I place my order today, and lets see how long will my rear end last. In any case, I don't do much drag race, when I race, I would rather go on a road course.
