Two Questions?????

Two Questions????? 1) I changed my ring gear and pinion from the stock 3.42 to a Richmond Gear 3.73. When I go driving I notice ALOT of whine. It only happens when I am giving gas (not freewheeling). When I let off, the whine goes away. Is this just the "infamous" Richmond Gear noise I have heard so much about? Can I put an additive in to quiet things down?
2) 6 speed shift quality. Why are these things so hard to shift? I have done the drill mod and have a 5.0 shifter, but it is still rather hard to get into gear at times. Has anyone found a way to further improve the shift quality? I was thinking of perhaps having a transmission shop see if they could do anything (match parts.....clean up.....something). Third is the hardest gear to get into. Should I just have the dealer open it up and rebuild it (only have 12,000 miles on the car)?
Anyone know anything about these two questions I would REALLY appreciate it.

Re: Two Questions????? additives or the use of heavier oil can quiet it down a bit. If you are getting a fair amount of whine on newly installed gears, I question whether they are installed 100% right. Once you get past break in and start flogging them, don't be surprised if they get loud.
