New here! Need help
Went to the track today, the car was launching great, but on the 2-3 shift it would not go in. It kept hitting the rev limiter, I have a HPP3 and kept trying to adjust the shift points, but that didn't help either. I have a 3500 stall and I know this is the reason, but what is going on and how do I fix it?? Shift Kit? or is something wrong? By the way, I ran a 12.83 @ only 103 . every time it tried to shift to third I would have to hit the brakes and let it off
I just read another post about torque management. Could this be the problem?? Thanks in advance
When it does this, can you let off the gas and nail it again and it shifts? (rev limiter)
Or is it shifting and then bogging? (TM)
If the converter install is recent, I would leave stock settings for a while and see if it clears up (worked for me), then setup your shift points. I'm running +4 on 1-2 and +2 on 2-3 w/2.73 gears. TM (pulled timing at the shift) is killing me bigtime right now. It helps if you can use Autotap or similar and log just rpm, mph, timing and current gear to get an accurate handle on what's happening.

When I was N/A, and had 2.73's, I ran +5 on the 1-2 shift and Rev Limiter set to 6600.
When I put in 3.73's, I had to drop that back to +3. The revs climb so quickly, it sometimes bumped the rev limit briefly, just before shifting.
If I spun too wildly, even +3 was too much. Drop your shift point back until you don't hit the rev limiter. Make sure you are not spinning too wildly (that's useless anyway, right?). And make sure the rev limit is set to max (6600 for the HPP).
Since my SC, I have my rev limit set to 7000. I've seen rpms as high as 6700. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Did you try using negative shift point adjustment, e.g. -3 mph?
Also, is your tranny fluid right to the top? being down half a quart can cause sluggish shifting.
