Driveshaft length and u-joints
Driveshaft length and u-joints I have a 2000 z28 m6 and I recently purchased a moser 9in for my car. center section has a 1310 yoke, Will the stock driveshaft length work also do they make a u-joint that will work with the 1310 and whatever the stock driveshaft is?
So if I want to be able to connect my factory DS to a 1350 I need that NAPA PN. So then does the DS have to be sent in to get the U Joint replaced? Or is that something I can do? What does that cost? What will a factory steel LS1 hold? Do I need a heavy duty slip yoke?

Correct, if you want to retain the factory driveshaft, you need the 447 U Joint to go from the factory 1310 to the 1350 yoke. It is something that you can do yourself, most auto manuals describe how to do it. The stock driveshaft though isn't that strong, and many people have broke them, and when they go they bang the hell out of the bottom of your car, sometimes smashing the exhaust system as well.

I know the alumiunum one is not that strong, but what will the steel one take. Thanks for the info EPP but I am on a tight budget. If a factory steel unit will take me to 600 horse than I will be happy.
